Marissa from Mount Joy PA was the lucky winner of the HIDDEN IN PLAIN VIEW LISTENING PARTY CONTEST. The band came to her house and played their soon-to-be released album, Life In Dreaming for her and her friends. This is what she had to say about the experience:
I had a great time with Hidden In Plain View! The new CD, Life In Dreaming is awesome and I can't wait until Feb 22nd to get it. Highlights of the night were: eating pizza with the band and crew, musical chairs with Joe, Rob, Nate and my friend Libby (though Nate always won even when he wasn't playing), and in-the-dark Karaoke. HIPV also loved fake lizard, robot dog, and BIG Scooby Doo. One thing I noticed about the guys is they love to draw and write. I even had Spencer write a note to my math teacher. Chris used our cameras to take pictures and I got some great photos (check out my photos below!). We really enjoyed looking at pictures from past concerts and asking questions about touring and such. My friends Jess, Libby, Kristina, Ashley and I had such a great time with HIPV, we only wish we could have made it to their Philly show the next night.
I really want to thank Chris, Joe, Rob, Mike, Spencer, their road manager and crew, and Drive-Thru Records. Make sure you get their CD Life in Dreaming on Feb 22nd, 2005. Plus, if you ever get the chance to meet the guys or see them live, don't miss out! Thanks again!
So after signing our deal with Rushmore Records we had about 1 hour to make it to LAX during a peak traffic period. We redlined our silver rental minivan in the HOV Lane to try to make it on time. We got through security and to our gate to find out our flight had been delayed just about 20 minutes. We proceeded to hit the bars for a round of celebration. We Quickly downed our jack, skyy, dewars and coronas. Soon after we got on our half empty flight and settled down in the back in our own rows. As soon as the drink cart came around we decided another celebration was due. Round 1 came fast and so did round 8. By the time we were over Omaha we knew every flight attendants name, D.O.B., hobbies and favorite color. By the time we were over Cleveland we were hanging in the back of the plane shooting the shit with the attendants. They hooked us up with some more food and snacks, which we distributed to all our new found friends around us. By the time we were on our initial approach Tom realized it wasn't too hard to steal life preservers from underneath our seats. Jarrett quickly joined in and took one as well. When we got home we decided to test out Toms new floatation device. The video before takeoff said to pull the straps and it would automatically inflate. However it said nothing about choking the shit out of you. A drunken Tom had to have his life vest ripped off by the strongest member of the band (Kenny). All in all it was a great trip home, be sure to get the Drive-thru/Rushmore DVD 3 to see Tom being choked by the vest.
New Found Glory’s new release, Catalyst, is in stores today and the band will be everywhere promoting it. Here is the short list of what will be going down. For more info check out www.newfoundglory.com
